St Michael’s C of E Primary School receives ‘Good’ Ofsted rating
Following its recent Ofsted Inspection, St Michael’s School, Helston, has been judged as a ‘Good’ school.
Head of School, Mrs Johnson said: “I cannot stress enough what this means to the whole St Michael’s community. We are delighted that the hard work of our staffing team has been recognised, and we were particularly moved by the sheer volume of positive comments received by the inspectors from parents.”
The published report from the school’s two-day inspection on 5 and 6 June 2019 confirms it is consistently good across each area of the framework.
Ofsted’s report highlighted the effectiveness of teaching to ensure pupils make good progress in reading, writing and maths, and the good behaviour evident in classrooms to support learning. The inspectors stated: “Pupils are very proud of their friendly school. They are clear that everyone makes friends quickly and no one is left out. Pupils play and work together well.”
CEO of Celtic Cross Education, Stuart Renshaw said: “This Ofsted report recognises the success of the school’s journey since its previous inspection. Work is already well underway to address the areas of improvement noted within the report to ensure this momentum continues.”
